There was one young boy, aged 5… he couldn’t quite understand what to expect and said he didn’t really want to go because he didn’t know what the theatre was or what people did there. I sat behind him during the performance, and have never seen someone participate quite so enthusiastically! He was ‘ROAR-ing’ with the mouse, trying to throw the rope to the Gruffalo, and jumping up and down in the songs. At the end of the day – he ran up to his mum beaming, saying, ‘This was the BEST DAY EVER! I LOVE the theatre!’.

I’m sorry but I just had to write to you. I have just taken my two children to see The Snail and the Whale. It was simply beautiful! I wish I could express properly how moved I am and how captivated and enthralled my children were. We know the book so very well but have been totally blown away by this production.Hilary, audience member, ‘The Snail and the Whale’
Thank you for a beautiful interpretation of a story that means a lot to my family. My husband is in the Royal Air Force and this is the story he chose to tell on his Storybook wings CD for our two daughters. We all enjoyed the show, although I did shed a few tears as the heartache of saying goodbye was very close to home. My daughters loved it all.

Just had to write. We have been to see Room on the Broom in Basingstoke today with our three and a half year old daughter. It was fantastic!!! We all loved it. I just don’t know how you do it each time – you turn a much loved book into a brilliant stage show which also has humour. I think we smiled all the way through. It was brilliant! The cast are so talented and we loved the puppets especially the dog and the frog! Thank you for another fab show.Clare, audience member, ‘Room on the Broom’
