Performances for schools

At the end of every rehearsal process in the Studio we hold preview performances and invite classes from Islington schools to come and watch, free of charge.

We are proud to be partners in Islington Council’s 11 by 11 scheme which offers free outstanding cultural experiences to all children in Islington.

“Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to view your show. Our children at The Bridge Primary absolutely loved the show and we were very impressed with the actors. They have inspired our children and we are keen to encourage more drama and role play sessions at school.

As you are aware our children don’t often get opportunities like this to be themselves and enjoy trips and visits to theatre performances. It brought a tear to my eye to see their smiling faces and hearing some of the children’s feedback at the end of the show.”

The Bridge School

“We took our reception aged children to see The Gruffalo BSL and couldn’t recommend it enough!

It was an absolutely fantastic performance and the incorporation of British Sign Language  really enhanced the engagement of the children. They were captivated throughout and rooted to their seats for the duration of the show, a testament to the talent of the actors!

The children enjoyed the Q&A session at the end and were amazed to learn that some members of the cast were deaf.”

Performances for local residents

We also regularly invite local residents and families to the Studio to watch preview performances free of charge.

We work with organisations such as Hibiscus Women’s Centre, Homestart Islington and Camden and The Parent House to reach families who might usually face barriers to attending the theatre.

If you are an Islington-based organisation interested in working with us to bring theatre experiences to families, please get in touch.
