Audience feedback
My son who is 4 years old loved it. It was magical to watch his face light up and brought a lump to my throat and tears in my eyes. Well done and thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my little boy’s first experience of the theatre so very magical.
Victoria, audience member, ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’I took my 3 year-old to see the show and to say that he enjoyed it is a massive understatement. In fact, he refused to leave the theatre. He cried all the way to the car because the show was finished. He was completely bewitched. I also loved it.
Ian, audience member, ‘Emily Brown and the Thing’We came to see you in the first week of the festival with grandchildren. It was completely brilliant and they sat transfixed. It’s so reassuring to see such great work being performed and to see so many young children being taken to see live theatre. The power of theatre!
Margaret, audience member, ‘Alfie White: Space Explorer’There was one young boy, aged 5… he couldn’t quite understand what to expect and said he didn’t really want to go because he didn’t know what the theatre was or what people did there. I sat behind him during the performance, and have never seen someone participate quite so enthusiastically! He was ‘ROAR-ing’ with the mouse, trying to throw the rope to the Gruffalo, and jumping up and down in the songs. At the end of the day – he ran up to his mum beaming, saying, ‘This was the BEST DAY EVER! I LOVE the theatre!’.
Audience member (youth leader), ‘The Gruffalo’
Thank you for a beautiful interpretation of a story that means a lot to my family. My husband is in the Royal Air Force and this is the story he chose to tell on his Storybook wings CD for our two daughters. We all enjoyed the show, although I did shed a few tears as the heartache of saying goodbye was very close to home. My daughters loved it all.
